Report: MSU’s Redmond tears ACL

Reports indicate that another Mississippi State football player has gone down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The (Jackson) Clarion Ledger, citing unnamed sources, reported Thursday that MSU senior cornerback Will Redmond suffered the injury and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Redmond would be the third Bulldog to suffer a torn ACL this month. Safety Kendrick Market and linebacker Dez Harris have also gone down with the same ailment.
Mississippi State would not comment on Redmond’s status except to say the school would unveil any players that will be out prior to Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. home matchup against Kentucky.
At his call-in show at The Dawg House Sports Grill, MSU head coach Dan Mullen was given a question from a fan regarding Redmond’s potential injury.
“Well I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Mullen said. “We don’t talk about injuries in our program. If you want to find out about our guys, buy a ticket and show up on Saturday. That’s it. I’m going to leave it at that. And if you don’t show up on Saturday, shame on you and you shouldn’t be deserving of asking a question about our injuries.”
So far this season, Redmond has recorded 25 total tackles and hauled in two interceptions.
