Making postseason appearances has become the norm for the Mississippi State softball program.
On Sunday it was announced that the Bulldogs would be making their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 12th overall. MSU will compete in the Lafayette (La.) Regional this coming weekend.
MSU (35-19) will play Baylor (38-14) in the first game. Also in the regional are Big Sky Tournament champions Weber State (38-17) and host Louisiana-Lafayette (39-9), who earned the No. 13 overall seed in the tournament after winning the regular season Sun Belt Title.
The Bulldogs and Bears meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. MSU is 0-3 all-time against Baylor.
Head coach Vann Stuedeman has now led the Bulldogs to 33-plus wins and an NCAA Tournament berth in each of her first four seasons at the helm of the program.
This is just the second time that MSU has been to four-straight NCAA Tournaments. The other came from 2002-05.
MSU played in the 2014 Lafayette Regional, where it went 1-2. The Bulldogs beat Texas Southern, but loss twice to Texas.
