Blog – MSU drops in polls after losing series to Alabama

Mississippi State split with Western Kentucky in the midweek and lost the series to Alabama over the weekend.

They fell in the polls as a result.

The Bulldogs (16-6, 1-2) dropped out of both the D1 Baseball and Collegiate Baseball polls. MSU was No. 22 and No. 16 respectively.

MSU is ranked No. 20 in the Baseball America, USA Today/Coaches and NCBWA polls. MSU fell from No. 22 to No. 25 in the Perfect Game poll.

MSU plays Tuesday against 0-13 Eastern Illinois. The Bulldogs will go with senior lefty Lucas Laster (2-0, 2.49 ERA), while the Panthers will go with freshman right hander Luke Dietz (0-0, 2.25 ERA).
