Mississippi State wide receiver De’Runnya Wilson and three others were arrested Friday in Alabama on drug-related charges after a traffic stop River Falls, Ala., Police Chief Greg Jackson told WSFA 12 News.
Wilson along with Artis Cleveland, Keith Middleton and Isaiah Maston were charged with possession of marijuana and second degree possession of drug paraphernalia.
MSU had not released a statement or commented on the situation as of late Friday evening.
The four were booked in the Covington County Jail according to WSFA’s report. Jackson said the four were pulled over around 9 p.m. for speeding and officers detected the scent of marijuana in the vehicle. A K9 unit alerted the officers to the drugs.
The Birmingham, Ala., native led the team with 680 receiving yards and nine touchdowns during his sophomore campaign that saw the Bulldogs rise to the No. 1 ranking for five weeks.
MSU starts spring practice on Wednesday.
