Blog – MSU women down Georgia, move to 16-0 (with video)

Mississippi State extended its best start in school history another game, as the No. 17 Bulldogs downed No. 19 Georgia 64-56 in Humphrey Coliseum Friday afternoon.

MSU is now 16-0 and 1-0 in Southeastern Conference play – the first win to open league play in four years.

Morgan William, Breanna Richardson and Kendra Grant all had 11 points for MSU. Martha Awlal added 10 points.

The Magnolia State Bulldogs led 31-28 at halftime, but found themselves down early in the second half. MSU went on a 15-2 run and held on down the stretch for the victory.

MSU travels to Missouri on Sunday.
