Blog – Mullen: Staley doubtful for spring

MSU head coach Dan Mullen confirmed that redshirt quarterback Elijah Staley had surgery Monday.

“With his patella tendon and starting to just do basketball, he had a lot of tendonitis in there and then tweaked it out here and has to have surgery,” Mullen said.

The patella tendon is in the knee.

Mullen said the Marietta, Ga., native is doubtful for spring football, but they hope to have him back at full strength when training camp starts next August.
