Mississippi State volleyball coach Jenny Hazelwood will not return to her post next season, the school announced Monday.
She will be reassigned to an administrative position in the MSU athletic department.
“I want to thank Jenny for her hard work and commitment to our volleyball program the last six years,” MSU Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said in a school release. “She has always been a great representative of Mississippi State and has led our volleyball program with class and dignity.”
During her six seasons, Hazelwood went 55-129 and had a record of 20-96 in Southeastern Conference play. The Bulldogs went 7-26 overall and 2-16 in league play this season.
“I appreciate the opportunity to have coached at my alma mater and I wish the players and the program nothing but the best moving forward,” Hazelwood said.
She played for the Bulldogs from 1996-99. She spent two seasons as the head coach of Austin Peay before her stint at MSU.
Stricklin said a search for a replacement will begin immediately.
