Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott continues to rack up awards this season.
The junior is the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
It is the second time Prescott has won the award this year. He was the Co-Offensive Player of the Week, with Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper, after leading the Bulldogs to a win over LSU on the road Sept. 20.
This time the Haughton, La., native helped the Bulldogs top Auburn 38-23. Prescott completed 18-of-34 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown. He also threw two interceptions.
The quarterback led the Bulldogs with 121 rushing yards on 21 carries. He also scored two touchdowns on the ground.
Prescott holds the school record for touchdowns responsible for with 53.
The win over the Tigers pole vaulted the Bulldogs to No. 1 in both in the Associated Press and Amway Coaches polls. It is the first time the Bulldogs have been the top team in either poll.
MSU’s rise to No. 1 in the AP poll took just five weeks, the fastest of any team in college football history.
Prescott has been a big reason for the Bulldogs’ 6-0 overall record and 3-0 mark in conference play. He has accounted for 2,089 total yards of offense this season. He has completed 96-of-156 passes for for 1,478 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has thrown just four interceptions. Prescott has rushed for 576 yards on 106 carries and eight touchdowns. He has caught two passes for 35 yards and one touchdown.
Ole Miss defensive back Cody Prewitt wins Defensive Player of the Week. He returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown as the Rebels beat Texas A&M.
Alabama punter JK Scott is the Special Teams Player of the Week. He had a career-high eight punts as the Crimson Tide beat Arkansas 14-13.
A pair of running backs are the Co-Freshmen of the Week. Georgia running back Nick Chubb rushed for a career-high 143 yards and a touchdown as the Bulldogs beat Missouri. LSU’s Leonard Fournette rushed for a career-best 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Tigers beat Florida.
LSU’s Vadal Alexander wins Offensive Lineman of the week, while Ole Miss’ Marquis Haynes is the Defensive Lineman of the Week. He had a pair of sacks in the Rebels’ victory.
