Mississippi State players continue to rack up weekly awards in the Southeastern Conference.
Quarterback Dak Prescott is the Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the league, while Ben Beckwith wins the Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league announced Monday night.
Prescott accounted for 373 yards of total offense and three touchdowns as MSU beat LSU 34-29 in Baton Rouge, La., Saturday night. He passed for 268 yards and two scores, and rushed for 105 yards and one touchdown.
He shares the award with Alabama’s Amari Cooper. Cooper hauled in 10 receptions for 201 yards and three touchdowns as the Crimson Tide beat Florida.
With Beckwith and Prescott winning, this is the first time MSU has won the two awards in the same week.
Beckwith helped the Bulldogs rush for 302 yards.
Bulldog senior Preston Smith saw his streak end at three for Defensive Lineman of the Week. Instead, Arkansas’ Trey Flowers earns the honor. He accounted for nine tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble in the Razorbacks’ win over Northern Illinois.
Auburn’s Joshua Holsey is the Defensive Player of the Week. He had 11 tackles as the Tigers won at Kansas State last Thursday night.
Vanderbilt’s Darrius Sims is the Special Teams Player of the Week. He became the first player in SEC history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns.
Georgia’s Sony Michel is the Freshman of the Week. He rushed for a career-high 155 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs beat Troy.
