Blog – MSU’s Jiles out for season

Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen confirmed that sophomore defensive back Cedric Jiles is out for the season.

He joins redshirt freshman Shelby Christy and senior offensive lineman Damien Robinson who are out for the year.

Jiles was injured during training camp and Mullen said he was out indefinitely, with no timetable for his return.

Mullen says senior safety Justin Cox is expected to play this weekend after missing last Saturday’s game with a leg injury. Sophomore offensive lineman Jamaal Clayborn practiced Sunday after missing the last two week’s after the death of his grandmother.

Freshman defensive lineman Braxton Hoyett will miss three weeks with a knee injury. He has yet to play a down this season.
