Former Bulldog standout Hunter Renfore will play in the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.

The 2013 San Deigo Padre first round draft selection played for the Bulldogs from 2011-13 and helped lead the Bulldogs to last year’s College World Series Championship series.

The Crystal Springs native will play for Team USA on Sunday, June 13, two days prior to this year’s MLB All-Star game, at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn.

Renfore started the 2014 season with the Lake Elsinore Storm, the Padres Class A-Advanced affiliate in the California League.

He was promoted to the Padres Double-A squad the San Antonio Missions in mid-June. Renfroe batted .295 in 69 games with the Storm and is batting .111 in five games with the Missions this season.

Renfroe and Team USA will be led by long-time Twins manager Tom Kelly.
