Play of the game: UT’s Nick Maggio had a two-run single to give the Vols a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning.

Big inning: 4th: UT scored four. Maggio’s single and two wild pitches gave the Volunteers a 4-0 lead.

Top Dawg: Ben Bracewell: He pitched five scoreless innings in relief to give the Bulldogs a chance to win.

Stat of the game: Twice: MSU left the bases loaded twice. The Bulldogs loaded them with no outs in the 8th, but three-straight strikeouts left them loaded. They loaded them again in the ninth with one out, but a pop up and a flyout ended the game.
