Blog – MSU basketball inks series deal with Oregon State

Mississippi State will has reached a deal with Oregon State to play two-year, home-and-home series with the Pac-12’s Oregon State in men’s basketball.

The series will begin with a Dec. 13 matchup in Corvallis, Oregon later this year. The two teams will play in Starkville in 2015, but a date hasn’t been set.

“We have singed a contract for a home & home series with Oregon State. We will travel to Corvallis Dec. 13th & they come to The Hump in 2015,” MSU head coach Rick Ray tweeted Tuesday morning.

The Beavers just fired head coach Craig Robinson this week, as the team went 16-16 and 8-12 in conference play.

A team spokesperson said another big matchup is expected to be announced in the near future. the Bulldogs, along with the Southeastern Conference are trying to beef up non-conference schedules to help with the RPI.
