No. 16 Mississippi State (18-9, 4-2) hosts Arkansas (16-8, 3-3) in a three-game weekend series starting Friday.
MSU head coach John Cohen will stick with the same rotation as last weekend. Redshirt sophomore right hander Preston Brown (3-0, 1.12 ERA) will take the mound tonight.
Junior left hander Ross Mitchell (4-1, 1.66 ERA) will go Saturday afternoon and junior righty Trevor Fitts (2-1, 3.13 ERA) will get the Sunday start.
The Razorbacks will go with junior lefty Jalen Beeks (3-2, 1.56 ERA), reigning SEC Pitcher of the Week sophomore right hander Trey Killian (1-3, 2.36 ERA) and junior righty Chris Oliver (2-2, 1.74 ERA) on the mound respectively.
“Their pitching numbers are ridiculous,” Cohen said. “It’s a very good pitching staff, very well coached and they’re a very good defensive club.”
Bulldog senior outfielder C.T. Bradford hasn’t played since March 15 at Georgia. The Pace, Fla. native has been battling a hip injury for a good part of the season.
He took batting practice Thursday afternoon, but his status for the weekend is still undecided.
“He gets a little bit better every day and it’s something you can’t hurry,” Cohen said. “Hopefully he’ll be available until this weekend, but we probably won’t know until tomorrow if he can go out there and run.”
