When Mississippi State beat Ole Miss on Thanksgiving night, the Bulldogs locked up a fourth-straight bowl appearance.
Bowl announcements won’t be made until Sunday night, but the Bulldogs look to either be in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn. or the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.
From all reports around Starkville it looks to be the Liberty Bowl but that’s just speculation.
“Speculation that our bowl destination is known is just that … Speculation. We find out Sunday,” MSU director of Athletics tweeted out on Friday.
The Liberty Bowl will have to decide between Vanderbilt and the Bulldogs. The Commodores have a better record at 8-4, but the Bulldogs will promise more fans.
In 2007, there were 63,816 fans at the Liberty Bowl. The Bulldogs beat the Knights of Central Florida that day.
If the Liberty Bowl takes Vanderbilt, the Bulldogs will more than likely play Rutgers.
Although many national pundits are predicting MSU to the BBVA Compass Bowl, I think they play in Memphis.
They will more than likely take on Marshall on New Year’s Eve.
