Blog – Pregame: No. 1 Alabama at Mississippi State

Records: MSU (4-5, 1-4), UA (9-0, 6-0)

Kickoff: 6:45 p.m.

TV: ESPN

Stadium: Davis Wade Stadium

QB matchup: MSU senior Tyler Russell (38-of-57 passing for 468 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT) vs. UA senior AJ McCarron (159-of-229 passing for 2,041 yards, 19 TDs and 3 INTs)

Officials: Referee – Mark Curies, Umpire – Johnny Hibbett, Linesman – John Langlois, Line Judge – Michael Shirey, Field Judge – Jabir Walker, Side Judge – Richard Rooker, Back Judge – Scott Vaughan, Alternate – Blaker Parks

One big thing to watch: The Bulldogs are looking to shock the world and shake up the national championship picture. MSU has beaten just one No. 1 team in five tries. That was a 6-3 win over Alabama in the famous 1980 game.

Gameday surprise: Tyler Russell will be making his fourth start of the season and second in a row for the Bulldogs under center. Dak Prescott suffered a “stinger” against Texas A&M last weekend. He walked out on the field for warmups in street clothes.

Pregame song(s): Song of the South by Alabama – Alabama is one of the best country bands there has ever been. This is one of my favorite by them. I hope you enjoy.
