Blog – Collins wanting consistency on defense (with video)

Dan Mullen would like to see a little more consistency out of his defense.

The Bulldogs played great in spurts against Auburn last Saturday, but at times broke down.

The Tigers scored on a 76-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Quan Bray was wide open after cornerback Justin Cox got tangled up.

Auburn also took the final possession 88 yards and scored with 10 seconds left to win the ballgame.

“That’s the key,” MSU defensive coordinator Geoff Collins said of consistency. “We’re trying every day to get better. You look at some plays in the Auburn game, there were three plays I think gave up 150 yards. Other than that, played well for the most part.”

We also caught up with sophomore defensive lineman Ryan Brown.
