There is a good bit experience and depth on the Mississippi State defensive line, but the key word this year is consistency.
In his second stint with the Bulldogs as the defensive line coach, David Turner inherits a vast amount of talent and big bodies.
Although there’s some experience with the defensive line, last Saturday in practice his squad took a step back.
“We’ve had more good days than bad days,” Turner said. “We’re really trying to preach consistency, getting better every day. The guys are trying, getting a little bit better and that’s all we ask, try to get a little bit better every day. Fundamentally we’ve just got to continue to improve.”
The projected starting four on the defensive line features three juniors and one senior.
The lone senior, Denico Autry, will play defensive end. Preston Smith will play the other end and the inside will be manned by P.J. Jones and Kaleb Eulls.
