Play of the game: UCLA’s Kevin Kramer struck out in the first inning, but reached base on a wild pitch. He later came around to score and give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. They never looked back.

Big inning: UCLA scored two runs in the fourth inning to give themselves a three-run lead. MSU catcher Nick Ammirati committed a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt. Eric Filia took advantage of the error with a two-run single.

Stat of the game: 2: The number of times MSU struck out. Both were against Hunter Renfroe. The MSU pitching staff accounted for 12 Ks.

Top Dawg: Chad Girodo: The senior left hander pitched 7 2/3 innings in relief. He struck out nine. He has 41 Ks in his last four outings, all coming in the postseason.
