Play of the game: The resumption of game two started with a Hunter Renfroe double down the right field line. He reached third when the UVA outfielder had trouble fielding it. He was driving home by C.T. Bradford to give MSU a three-run lead. UVA scored two in the ninth so the run proved critical.

Big inning: MSU’s Wes Rea hit a two-run home run to left field in the third inning to give the Bulldogs the lead.

Stat of the game: 9: The Cavaliers left nine batters on base.

Top Dawg: Chad Girodo: The senior left hander pitched 4 2/3 innings in relief on Sunday night to hold the MSU lead. He struck out 10 batters.
