Blog – Regionals announced, MSU gets familiar foes (with video)

Mississippi State found out Sunday that it would be hosting a regional. On Tuesday the teams to participate in the regional were announced.

MSU will be joined by No. 2 seed South Alabama, No. 3 seed Mercer and No. 4 seed Central Arkansas.

“I think it’s a great field,” MSU head coach John Cohen said who has led MSU to three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. “We’re very familiar with these guys.”

The Bulldogs are making their 33rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament. It is the 12th time State will host a regional and the first time since 2003.

Here are videos of MSU senior RHP Kendall Graveman, sophomore RHP Jonathan Holder, junior OF Hunter Renfroe and junior SS Adam Frazier.

The winner of the Starkville Regional will meet the winner of the Charlottesville, Va. regional. Virginia, the No. 6 overall seed, will anchor the Charlottesville Regional. They will be joined by No. 2 seed UNC Wilmington, No. 3 seed Elon and No. 4 seed Army.
