The No. 8 (Collegiate Baseball) Mississippi State Bulldogs (19-4, 1-2) salvaged one game in a three-game series as they beat the No. 3 LSU Tigers (18-2, 2-1) 10-2 on Sunday.
MSU senior right hander Kendall Graveman (2-1) pitched six innings giving up only one run on seven hits to record the win.
“Really proud of Kendall,” MSU head coach John Cohen said. “He kind of took our ball club on his shoulders (Sunday), wanted to make a statement for our club and I think he did.”
“I knew it was going to take a couple of games to get the timing back down,” Rea said who had been sidelined with a quad injury over the last couple of weeks. “I was feeling good.”
MSU will be back in action this Tuesday when they play Alcorn State in a 6:30 p.m. start time at Dudy Noble Field.
