Blog – Pregame: No. 3 LSU (16-1) at No. 8 Mississippi State (18-2)

The No. 8 (Collegiate Baseball) Mississippi State Bulldogs (18-2) are set to battle the No. 3 LSU Tigers (16-1) in a top 10 three-game Southeastern Conference Series beginning tonight at 6:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs and Tigers will play a 6:30 p.m. game tomorrow on CSS and the finale on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

The Tigers have won their last 11 games, while the Bulldogs beat Southern Miss Tuesday night in Pearl to snap a two-game losing streak.

The Bulldogs lost two-of-three last year in Baton Rouge, La.

Sophomore first baseman Wes Rea will get his first start since March 1 and second since Feb. 16 tonight has he will be the designated hitter.

Rea has been battling a quad injury and has been limited.

MSU sophomore lefty Jacob Lindgren (2-0, 0.96 ERA) will be starting for the Bulldogs after not getting out of the first inning last Friday night. He was hit in the left leg by a line drive, but a MRI showed no ligament or bone damage.

The Tigers will throw sophomore right hander Aaron Nola (2-0, 2.77 ERA).
